LION Picture Framing Supplies was founded in Birmingham, UK, in 1977. They remain a family-owned business, with extensive knowledge of the picture framing and wall décor trade.

LION stock and supply picture frame mouldings, mountboard, materials, equipment and display / hanging systems to picture framing and wall décor professionals. With over 50 staff handling enquiries and orders, the large team take great pride in offering customers a very high level of service, technical advice and support. The business is a sector-leader and extremely well-known in their relevant industry.

The relationship

With a clear strategy to invest significantly in their ECommerce platform and marketing channels, LION required high quality marketing talent to join their established team. Over the last 12 months, Heathcote Recruitment Group (formerly ESA Group) have collaborated with the business in their search for both a Marketing Manager & a Website / Digital Strategist to help them grow and support their continued expansion into digital.

The focus was to find candidates who were the right fit in terms of culture and personality, as much as having relevant experience and skills. With the core LION market being primarily B2B, and very much product-led, the potential candidates would need to have displayed significant experience in a similar B2B sector.

Although our relationship with LION is relatively new, our Senior Marketing Consultant quickly built a great relationship with the Managing Director by going out to the business and understanding their needs and requirements both now and long term.

The result

Our search focused on candidates who were looking for a long-term opportunity to build upon their marketing knowledge in a close-knit team. We were delighted have been successful in placing candidates in for both positions and managed the two placement processes thoroughly from selection to interview.
