First established in 1979 from a small industrial unit in Leicester. Hörmann UK's head office in Coalville now has a total building footprint of 12,000 square meters. Since then, as part of the Hörmann Group, they are now established as the leading supplier of garage doors in Europe.

The still family-run company, headquartered in Steinhagen, Germany employs more than 6,000 employees in 27 specialised factories. Having produced over 15 million doors since 1935, they’ve recently achieved an annual turnover of more than 1 billion euros.

Hörmann is present in over 100 individual sales locations in more than 40 countries and represented by sales partners in over 50 other countries.

The relationship

Due to staff progression, Hörmann UK regularly require new talent to join their established team. Over the last 12 months, we have partnered with the business in their search for 2 x Marketing Assistants to help them grow and support their busy marketing department.

Prior to engaging the business, Hörmann had faced some recruitment challenges and therefore it was important for us to meet the hiring manager to understand how we could deliver quickly and efficiently.

The focus was to find candidates who were the right fit in terms of culture and personality, as much as having relevant experience and skills. Although finding local candidates within a commutable distance proved difficult, with perseverance and regular communication, our senior consultant built a great relationship with Hörmann to enable us to deliver.

The result

Our search focused on candidates who were looking for a long-term opportunity to build upon their marketing knowledge. With lots of opportunities to develop at Hörmann, the hiring manager was not looking for a stop-gap solution. Happily, we were pleased to have been successful in their search and managed the two placement processes thoroughly from selection to interview.
